Abstract

This article analyzes the last publications of Vygotsky, in which he insisted on the introducing into Psychology the category "experience". The symptoms of an experience are: individuality, situational reaction, intentionality. The use of the category "experience" allows to consider a person as a unity of human personality and environmental aspects, and to assert (to judge) the nature of a person's attitude to a piece of reality. The article gives reasons for the failure of the project of giving grounds and ways of usage of the category "experience" (Leontiev, Elkonin, Bozhovich, Vasilyuk), and the possibility of its feasibility in modern psychology. The emphasis is put on the necessity to adopt the post-modernism methodology. It is stressed that it is important to study a personality as a unity; a person is unique, so the analysis of separate cases is in no case less reasonable than the statistical generalization; the main psychological individual reality is experiencing by a person of the world and of himself in the world.

Key words

experience, dialogue, narrative psychology, situational reaction, intentionality, consciousness and personality
