Abstract |
|
This article discusses Jack London's interest to the subjects and images of Indian mythology in his late fiction (the period after 1909). The principles of the interpretation of the Maidu myths and their role in the development of philosophical, allegoric and symbolic aspects of narration are disclosed on the examples from the play "Acorn-Planter" and the novel "The Little Lady of the Big House". The author focuses on the features of J. London's mythological thinking revealed through the interpretation of the theme "man and civilization. |
