Abstract


The paper is devoted to the study of the specific features of modern schoolchildren cognitive development, as well as to the research of the effective ways for developmental teaching Physics. 274 students of 5th to 10th grade participated in the experiments. The results obtained show that the majority of schoolchildren lack both space-time perceptions development and logical thinking structures, demonstrating Piaget's phenomena which is characteristic for preschool children and primary school pupils. The study presents the descriptions of pedagogical methods intended for developing children's cognitive structures and creating the conditions for a successful transition to formal thinking.
