The article is dedicated to the study of transition state of political regime in post-Soviet Russia. It presents an analysis of the processes taking place in Russia in recent decades. They are complex and ambiguous. The nature of changes in all spheres of political and socio-economic system largely depends on the direction of the formation of the political regime. Obviously, the formation of the political regime in modern Russia today is largely contrary to the principles of democracy. There are important specifics of the transition to democracy and deadlines. However, the priorities of the country's political development has been and remains democracy, legal state and civil society.
