Abstract |
||
This article contains the results of an empiric research in the motivational sphere of the pre-schoolers’ mothers who force their children’s development. “Forcing” is understood as mother’s striving to accelerate her child’s development at the expense of earlier transition to the next stage of development (meaning acquiring skills and qualities characteristic for elder children). It has been shown that the motivation of achieving their children’s happiness is one of the leading in the motivational sphere of the women under research. But the mothers who force their children’s development are also guided by the instrumental motivations of motherhood unlike the mothers from the control group for whom their own well-being is more important. It has been concluded that the aspiration of a mother to force her child’s development is connected with the instrumental motivations of motherhood. |
