The article is devoted to the dynamics of a political regime in Abkhazia. The author offers the periodization of its political regime based on the specificities of political institutions’ transformation and of the methods of power implementation. As of today Abkhazia is one of the most uncharacteristic examples among unrecognized and partially recognized states in the post USSR space. Despite the lack of public recognition and tacit necessity to follow the principles of internal stability its internal political cycles can’t be called a conservative rotation of politicians within the usual procedures. The author concludes that studying the features of internal political dynamics of the post-Soviet territories is especially important for understanding the trends of their development and preservation of stability in the region.

Key words

political regime, political institutions, partly recognized state, president
