Abstract


The article presents a brief historical background of the working out and further development of the ideas of inclusive education of children with disabilities in the U.S. and Europe, provides the analysis of the concepts “inclusion” and “integration”. It is proved that a holistic inclusive approach in the learning process allows to prepare people with disabilities for independent life in society. The author gives the analysis of the difficulties and peculiarities, as well as the benefits, of inclusion in the mainstream educational system.
