Abstract

The article presents data of microanalysis of Moscow students’ social representations about the in-group inside the civil identity structure. The study of civic identity is an urgent problem of the state policy implementation. An important component of researching this problem is to identify the in-group, which includes civil identity orientation. Recent empirical studies of the in-group in Russia were conducted in the early 2000’s, so it is important to consider it taking into account the current material. The microanalysis is conducted with the use of the free association method. The results were analyzed according to the frequency of occurrence of the concept in the respondents’ answers, and according to the emergence of the concept rank. “Russia” and “Russians” are among the concepts proposed for the association of concepts by the in-group. Thus, Moscow students’ civil identity is a state identity (when concepts nation and state coincide with each other in respondents’ understanding).

Key words
