The paper shows that the social constructivism is the methodological basis of socio-cultural modernization of education. The Russian society, as a society of risks, is considered separately. It is proved that only the sociocultural modernization of education, connected with the transition to a personal-oriented, anthropological paradigm, capable of developing individual abilities and opportunities of each, to form social activity, motivation for the success of career aspirations, will help to consolidate education as an important condition that will realize the potential of education. In this regard, the most important constructs for implementing the socio-cultural modernization of education are tolerance and trust. The final part of the work analyzes the way some educational institutions tested various psychotechnics aimed at building tolerance and trust in children of different age groups.

Key words

social constructionism, socio-cultural modernization of education, society of risks, social capital, tolerance, trust
